What works / what doesn't
| Details | |
|---|---|
| Connect to a logged-in Mac session | Works — you connect to the screen of a Mac you are already logged in to |
| Mac with only the display off (display sleep) | Works — if you are logged in and only the screen is off, you can still connect |
| Lock screen or login window | If the screen is locked, connecting may fail. Unlock the Mac first. If the screen locks during a session, the connection ends with the default setting ("Disconnect when screen locks" is on). You cannot connect at the login window right after a restart or log out. |
| Network | Same network or VPN required |
| Simultaneous connections | One person at a time |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to install anything on Windows?
No. RDPyon uses Windows' built-in Remote Desktop Connection (mstsc.exe). You only install one app on your Mac.
Does it work on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4)?
Yes. RDPyon runs as a native binary and uses ScreenCaptureKit for hardware-accelerated capture.
How many devices can I use one license on?
A single license activates on up to 2 Macs. You can deactivate a Mac you're no longer using from your account page and reuse the slot on a new one.
What happens after the first year?
Your license key and the last compatible app version keep working forever. To receive new updates, you can renew at 50% off ($9.50) for another year. You download and install new versions directly from rdpyon.com/download (free for 1 year after purchase).
Can I get a refund?
Yes. We refund any purchase within 30 days, no questions asked.
Is RDPyon on the Mac App Store?
No — App Store sandbox rules block the permissions an RDP server needs (listening on a port, requesting screen recording at runtime). RDPyon is signed with Apple Developer ID and notarized.
